i'm putting a 350 in my 73 3/4ton. the 350 i'm wanting to get an edelbrock and do away with the quadrajet and was just wondering which eldelbrock carb to use. i know they make a few different ones so i was just wondering what would be good for just a everday truck. i also wana put headers on it and wondered who made a good set that aren't too expensive

I have a 600 cfm(1405 is carb number) with manual choke (will convert to electric before winter) on my 389 stroker and am very happy with it. Summit has a decent set of headers, the flange seems to be a good thickness and shouldn't warp. To prevent leaks, try the dead soft aluminum, they are reuseable, and I have the copper collector gaskets and haven't had a leak yet. Good luck and keep on truckin'!------------Jerry

P.S. I checked the plugs after about 1K miles, and the plugs looked right on, no adjustments, just took it out of the box, hooked it up, and drove. I got mine from Jeg's, it was a factory rebuilt unit and I saved a few bucks ($25) every little bit helps you know-----------Jerry

manual or electric choke?

Since I'm getting on in years, I prefer the electric. It's too easy to forget to to unchoke it when it warms up. You know what they say about getting older, the first two things to go are your eyes, and....uh, I forget what the other one was. Good luck and keep on truckin'!.......Jerry

I have a few Holley carbs for sale if your interested. I have a 700 double pumper vaccum secondarys with oversized jets $110, a 650 double pumper manuel choke with mechanical secondarys (expensive but a rare carb) $450, and a 750 double pumper electric choke with mechanical secondarys for $150.
