Frame Numbers on Longhorn...ANDY?
I tried to pull the numbers off the Longhorn frame and did not see any on the top of the driver side frame where they are on most C10's I've seen. This one had numbers on the passenger side of the frame (3998712 170X 7 2 69)...not top. They don't look familiar however. I may have to have another go at this when I get the frame and box next week.

Did you find it on the passenger side, outer side of the frame under the seat area?
I can't remember the number, but I'll bet that is the p/n for the one ton frame. The last portion looks like a build date...it's a 69 or a 70, right? The VIN should be in the same location as the C/10's. It was there on my 1/2 ton, the old blue 3/4 ton longhorn, and on the one ton. |

Andy, That sounds right. There was another canopy sitting on the front of the frame so I could not get to it and could not see at an angle. When I got the canopy off I put it into my truck and forgot to go back. I will get the box and frame on Tuesday. The frame is really clean and quite nice. The box is in excellent shape. A little surface rust on the seam but inside there isn't even one dent in the wheel tubs. The wood is decent and there are no dents or scratches outside either...NONE! Sand, prime and paint...whoooo hoooo! The cab mounts are still there and they are in excellent shape too. I did not check but I hope it has a posi rear end too. All I really want is that excellent sheet metal!!!!
