I believe the real point here is that e-bay IS an auction, not something priced at a store or at a show. I have been in the auction business,as a floor man for 2 years and as an auctioneer for the past 12 years. The majority of stuff sold brings more than "book" or sometimes "new" prices because of the competition of the bidding process."I want it and I can afford it so THEY are not going to get it". Without this attitude auctions could do away with the middle man and you would have a swap meet.
I have sold on e-bay since somewhere around 98 and everything I have sold on there was bought at a local auction and brought at least twice as much and sometimes much more. E-bay exposes your item to hundreds of thousands of people instead of a hundred. And with that many people fighting for your item "I've got to have it no matter what" makes me smile. I guess what I am saying is ALWAYS buy with your head and not your heart.Yea right I just bought a 71 blazer
