Chrome Trim Re-Installation

Hello everyone, i'm in a bit of a STICKY situation. I attempted to re install the factory chrome trim on my truck, but didnt make out too well. I put it on, and about 2 days later, it had curled up and pieces were falling off! So i'm wondering what i did wrong, possibly oils from the cleaning product i used messed it up??? I have no idea. any help would be GREATLY appreciated, and let me know what you used to prep the truck for the trim. thanks everybody, NICK

BTW: ITS FOR SALE... $5500 obo EMAIL, PM, POST, CALL (631-466-6336), WHATEVER.... EAST HAMPTON, NY (LONG ISLAND) IT WILL BE ON EvilBAY SHORTLY....

you're talking about the "chrome" trim that goes the full length of the truck right? if so, you're going to need to buy some more trim adheasive (sp?) from a localautomotive place. i know g.i. joes carries it. scrape off all the old crap on the back of the molding and re-apply the tape.

You need to clean the area that your applying it with denatured alcohol to remove any cleaners and glass cleaner with ammonia to remove any wax. Thats how I did it and mines been on for 3 years with out a problem.
