new exhaust on, $250!!

The exhaust fell off the work truck on the highway the other day so I figured I'd stop and see how much it would cost to replace. I bought a pair of almost brand new 3" flowmasters from a friend for $50 and went to the exhaust shop. I get there and the guys says he will do it for about $250 with 2-1/2" pipe. So I dropped it off and he calls to tell me he ran out of 2-1/2 but would do 3" for the same price!!! I picked it up this morning and he tells me its only $200 because of the mixup in pipe ha ha ha. So I got 3" exhaust from the manifolds (almost) back with tips complete w/mufflers for $250. It sounds awesome. I made an appointment for the Blazer next week to

Wow that's pretty good! I'm getting the dual exhuast kit from LMC that bolts up to the manifolds, and its 180 for stock exit kit. I'm gonna bolt it all up myself i think.

Is that the going rate for complete exhaust systems!?!? Wowsa! The last system I had installed was on Yeller over 7-8 years ago...$200 (no cats and I supplied my own mufflers. Hope this (your quote) isn't the going rate when I do it this time around

I tried the bolt on exhaust kit from lmc. The mufflers were the only thing I was able to use. The rest was not even close to fitting.

I had mine installed last summer sans converter and it cost me $180.00. Had the guy use stock mufflers and pipes that exit in front of the rear wheels to save a little money.

Its a longbed system, gotta cut the front extensions, if that's what you mean not fitting.

With the dual 3" pipes do you get any popping on decelleration?
I have a Edelbrock AIR shorty headers to y-pipe to 3" pipe into 3" cat then into aero chamber 3" muffler and out behind drivers tire (single 3" all the way). I get some popping here and there on decelleration. Other then that is sounds strong and flows great.

BTW, crush bends like that are no big deal, even on smaller pipes.
If you were going to race this thing at the track you would want the mandrel bends.
If restrictive flow is your concern get some headers, your manifolds are going to restrict way more then crush bends.

I saw this guy that i know and i talked to him. i saw his trucks is like a 2002-04. I am not to big of those i prefer the cat eyelights not the ones like that. I dont know what there called. But i saw him in class. i asked him what type of exhaust systems he had. i liked the sound of it. He said that it was Dual cat back with no mufflers with t2.5 then 3 tips. I am thought like that is what i want and i am getting sweet. Then he asked me what i am paying for mine and i said like 300 to 350. And he was like wow and then he said i only paid 180 for mine. and i was like Crap. He jsut got his done at a place out of town and that town aint that far so i am getting mine for 180.

I had a set of pipes I bought from a salvage yard ( perfect shape) and it csot me $285 just to get them installed. but there was a bit of work making them fit my headers. But still? You got a great deal, I think!

I've only put about 10 miles on it since I got it done but I didnt notice any popping. Is popping bad?

I just finished up my exhaust system, I paid about 85 for mufflers, and about 85 for pipes, for a total of 170 cnd I don't have any pictures yet, I'll post em tommorow, along with a sound clip. I just went with a pair of cheap turbo mufflers, I have no idea how they will sound (I didn't take the truck outta the shop, I was wet and cold and just came in, lol)
