dash removal
How do I get the metal part of the dash out? Would I have to cut it out or are there bolt that hold it in place? Just wondering.

Both. There are a couple bolts on each end...but the rest is spot welded the entire length below the windshield.

what is the purpose for removing it? switching from a 73-80 dash to a 81-87 or vice versa?

I just like to dream things up like taking the dash and putting it in a 67-72 truck. Plus, it is always good to learn more about these trucks because I'm young and I want to gain knowledge from everyone here.

your cab will likely be junk by the time you get it out, if its a cab from a parts truck, or something not worth keeping the rest, i'd go for it. if you have any plans of keeping the rest of the cab, i wouldnt mess with it. as was said before, the upper part is part of the flange that the windshield attaches to. mess that up, and you wont be able to mount the windshield properly.
