Currently there is no one that I am aware of to fix these things. Forum member Crossy is the resident expert, and he has tried just about every source know to get the tach repaired. If you locate some one that can, please let us know....

actually i did talk to a nicer, older than me (sounding) guy on the phone that said he could fix me up but i swear i don't remember which one of the 10 places i talked to that it was. just do a Yahoo or google search for tach or tachometer repairs and type a message and save it to your WORD or WORDPAD that you just copy & paste to each place that says they do them and see what you get back. Be sure to tell them what exactly you have , the problem, and ask THEIR MINIMUM CHARGE, thats usually the deterrent. Most places are $125++.
I have had sucess with this guy(mike) http://www.redlineg.com/ . he happened to have a 77-79 truck one that he got stuck with and I stole???? :-( it for a mere $150 with shipping. DAVE

I called Red Line Gauge Repairs in Humboldt Tennessee today and it costs anywhere from $79 to $155 to repair my GM tachometer!! Needless to say it is in the mail and on the way to them!! It only takes about a 2-3 day turn around!! Thanks Crossy!! I was beginning to get worried that there was not a repair person in the world!! I found that hard to believe!!! Thanks to all and call them at red line gauge repair, they are very friendly!! I will let ya'll know how my gauge turns out!!!

It was not reacting at all to the signal of the coil! I tested all the wires and it is the tach that is bad!!!
