Amp gauge Question!!
I HAVE AN AMP GAUGE IN MY 82 C-60 AND IT IS NOT READING CORRECT! I MADE SURE THE HORN RELAY WAS GOOD AND I DO HAVE VOLTAGE FLOWING THROUGH IT BUT MY BIG CONCERN IS ARE ALL AMP GAUGE SET UPS CRAPPY? I AM CONVERTING IT TO A VOLT GAUGE AND JUST WONDERED IF I WAS THE ONLY ONE WITH ANY PROBLEM LIKE THIS! iF YOU TURN THE LIGHTS ON WHILE THE TRUCK IS RUNNING EVERY AMP GAUGE THAT I BOUGHT AND PUT IN THERE JUMPS AROUND A-LOT! THE VOLTAGE ALWAYS READS CORRECTLY! MIND YOU THAT EVERY GAUGE BOUGHT AND PUT IN WAS NOT PROFESSIONALLY TESTED! THANKS! I THINK AMP GAUGES ARE A BUNCH OF !!!!!!!

I can tell you that as far as light duty trucks go, Amp gauges were discontinued after 1977. I would have assumed that Chevy/GMC did the same thing with their heavy duty line up as well. Having said that, I would think that an 82 truck should have a Volt gauge in it.
