Better Hood Hinges??????
Is there anything you can do to get better hood hinge system for the 73-80 style hoods? Quite frankly the factory ones suck, bent hoods if not properly lubed and you have to work the hoods down to close. Could you retrofit the 81 and newer stlyle hings or is the cowl on these trucks differant, can't rember. Or what about hinges, perhaps the factory ones??? With gas shocks, how would you mount them?? Any ideas would be appricaiated guys, what do you think???? THANKS

Not totally sure, but don't think the 81-87 will fit cause hood is slightly different. Have you looked into gettin the hood brace kit? LMC has them for $19.95. Haven't gotten myself a pair yet but seen a few trucks with em and they seem to be good insurance for the hood.

I would just buy a new set of hinges. They aren't really expensive. The newest used hinges you will find are 25 years old, so that route is pretty much out. I would guess that you woul dhave more in modifying a set of hinges to fit that it would be worth.
