will a 84 cab fit a 1980?

Hey all, I have a 1980 GMC indy hauler that is rusted out and want to put a 1984 cab on it , will this cab work with my front sheet metal?

The 84 cab will work with some mods. The 84 cab has the hood hinge holes in the cowl. You won't use those hood hinges so you can leave the holes open (after removing the hinges) or weld in some patches. The wiper linkage will need to be changed to the older style. Another change will be the wiper switch. You can patch in the piece from your 80 cab to the 84 cab to keep the controls on the dash or adapt the wiring to use the 84 and up column mounted wiper controls.

PLEASE show us some pics of your truck. I have a 1980 Indy Hauler too and if I keep it long enough to restore it, I'll be swapping cabs too!

you will also need to swap out the heater /ac stuff from the cabs to make the harness work

will it work

I was thinking about leaving the dash and everything out of the 1984 in the truck, what would I have to do to leave it all in and use the 1980 front end?
