Refinishing grill
My 68 gmc came with the grill, front bumper and door mirrors all painted with a dark silver... I'd like to refinish the grill and polish it up but I'm not sure exactly how to proceed. I have some aircraft paint stipper but that may be a bit to harsh. Has anyone tackled this before? Any help appreciated.
Thanks!

it should be ok....try some on the inside of the grill just to make shure. As far as a polish goes on aluminum ( dont know if thats the material your working with), if you dont have a polishing wheel then I would suggest diffrent grades of steel wool (they make that believe it or not ) I think it goes somthing like grade 00 and 000 cant remember, then hand rub with some metal polishing compound. I can take some pics of a painted aluminum biycle frame I did and it looks like a mirror and has kept its shine with out any sealer/paint for years.
