Finally getting a truck
Well guys it looks like I am going to be selling my s-10 blazer soon hopefully to my unlce, and buying a 73-79 pickup. I have always wanted one of these trucks but I couldn't pass up the deal on the blazer. So I have been talking with my parents and I desided I REALLY want and old pickup. I am looking for a short bed, 2wd, with a 350, and I want a manual trans, but will take auto if its a good deal. So after I get the blazer painted (friday) and get the interior back in, I hope to sell it and buy a pickup.
So is there anything to look for with these old trucks. Like other then the usual trans shifting, smoke at start up, oil leaks and all that. Like specific thing about these year trucks?

I was gonna say look for rust, but I doubt you'd have to worry about that in the middle of the desert, lol
You've about covered most of it in your post...
