what transmission is this

I have a 1981 chevy half on pickup with a 250 in line 6 and the transmission looks like a 350 from what the oil pan looks like with 13 bolts holding the pan on. there is a 2 prong wire connection to the drivers side of the tranny.what would that be for. is there a sight I can go to and compare the front shafts of transmissions that are like the 350 trannys.

could that be a th 350 c? lock up converter? Ive read a bit on there about them. and I know they came out in the 80's so that very could be a 350c tranny. just my guess.

It's a TH350C. This is a 350 tranny with a lockup torque converter. That's what the wire is for, the lockup solenoid.

well by what I read. the wires are hooked up to a swich that uses current to lock up the converter to give you a true 3rd, gear 1 to 1 ratio. and when you press on your break theres a swich there that shuts off the current to the converter... Ide try to do a search on there about the th350c to learn more. I am still new here and learning as I go. hope what I said was right. if not you should get the idea.
