A 402 that's 30 over would be like a 408. Look at your 396, it only gained 6 cubic inches when it was bored 30 over, so of course a 402 isn't going to gain 25ci when bored 30 over (from 402 to 427).
I forget the exact bore and stroke numbers off the top of my head (and too lazy to go look), but a 396 is a short stroke, small bore engine. The 454 is the long stroke and big bore engine. The 427 is an engine with a 454 bore but a 396 crank (big bore but short stroke). Ive had alot of bigblocks, still own several... but my fav is my 502. |
