It is for sure a small block top AC bracket, not nessecary but nice to have as it was stock. There is another adjuster on the front that will tension the belt without it. I have ran them with it and without, the pic is not too clear but this is my stock 72.

The engine was converted to a short water pump vice stock which was a long. Every bracket on the engine so far is for a Short Water Pump. I think I included some paperwork for you on a company that makes all the brackets you need to hang the stock A/C compressor. All the brackets you have with the compressor are wrong and will not line up to the pulleys that are on the engine. Take a look at the custom Power Steering brackets.
