Really sharp looking truck. Nice job. You said that it is a "project", looks finished to me. Welcome to the site. Give us more info, like the motor, ect.

Specs & Stuff
79 Silverado is correct CT
I have a bit left and I keep identifying stuff. Last week I redid the gauges with Autometer. I will post the pic. 1977 Chevy C10, 350 V8 with Edelbrock Air Gap Intake and Edelbrock 795 CFM Quadrajet, Accel Distributor and HEI, Paint is Corvette White with House of Color (sp?) Pearl. The drop is pretty extreme and I am not sure if I like it, but I don't know that I want to take it on. Would love to bag it. Big $! I do all the work myself and often spend like 10 times the normal to finish because every stage is a learning experience for me! I had a no start for a week and rewired nearly everything until I found that the woire was loose on the junction box.....doh. |

Gauges
Swervin Mervin has a thread discussing the gauges with two links for full details on how to do it. I don't think I would have tried it without the guidance. Wiring is the tuff part... Identifying. But you might be more capable than me! I purchased the gauges from Summit and used a 5" mechanical speedo, a 5" tach, 2 5/8 for the rest: Water Temp, fuel, volts and mechanical oil pressure gauge. I also purchased the Painless Gauge wiring harness and you will likely need a threaded speedo cable..I used Lokar. Doing it all over again, I might have converted from mechanical to electrical oil pressure. I used the Autometer Sport Comp gauges. You will have to modify plastic as well as aluminum bezels. It is all in the thread I mentioned. Swervin did an even more custom job. I decided that I wasn't that capable.

77C10, those are my gauges (and my article) that I installed in my 73.

Glad to finally be able to thank you for the help. I have had the article for about a year it seems. I finally got up the nerve to try it. Your article and Swervins wiring description really helped me complete the job. The only thing that didn't match up was the fuel gauge wire color. I finally resorted to an ohm meter and was able to finish. I also wish I could have followed your advice on getting the aluminim cut by someone else. I did it, but I have a few spots I am not happy with. Either way, I am pleased with the result and thank you for the help!

I had to put some of those inside the spring air bags in it to bring it up a bit. I was hitting a lot of things with the arms. Oh and elephant ear mirrors? What would you suggest?
