replacement padded dash??

What is the best deal out there on a replacement padded dash for a 1984 GMC? I don't want a "cover". I want something that looks pretty much original and is of similar quality to the original.

I sell Dashes Direct pieces. They are pretty much the supplier to all the other places, Chevy Duty, etc... They aren't listed on the online catalog yet, but I can get them.

When I was checking around a while back for my '86, I was told that the GM dashes fit a little better, but that the Dashes Direct parts are pretty good. The advantage of the aftermarket ones at that time was that they were available in colors, and the GM dash was (supposedly) only available in black. Also, though I am not positive, I think www.gmpartsdirect.com wanted about $100 more for theirs than most vendors wanted for aftermarket ones.

I did not check with Captkaos at the time because he was not selling parts. I would not hesitate to buy from him, though, if he said it was a quality product.

what are you talking for a dash? so, its basically an "aftermarket" new, dash PAD, not cover, replacement for the original?

Yes, it is an actual dash. Although they haven't sent me a sample for the 73-78, I have heard conflicting stories on that setup. Mostly from those that are wanting a show truck needing something with real high quality.
