Just a heads up your going to need to change the carrier in it also..

4.56's won't fit the 3.73 carrier..

thanks for the heads up, I've replaced my broken 3.73 with another 3.73 so no altering was required,,,, so with this new information. Does anyone have a 4.56 ring and pinion and carrier for the whole setup? I prefer used prices... thanks guys...

Mike

4.56 gears will fit a 3.73 carrier if both ring gears are the same thickness

he could get a thick cut gear set, but those are are to find and almost always on a back order...

GYVA I can do you gears and open carrier for 200 to your door, from Spokane Wa if you cannot find any used sets..
The carrier would take your existing spider gears and center pin..

PM if it sounds good..

4.56's will fit the 3.73 carrier. As long as the carrier isnt like 2.90 something? or lower it will fit. I have 4.88's in my Nova now and originally it came with 3.08's...same carrier is in it now. The new gears are alot thicker then factory gears too.

The rear in your nova is lot different carrier than the Dana 44.

I beleive tha change over to keep normal gears on the 3.73 carrier is 3.73 down.
if you want 4.10's you have to change carrier to fit 4.10's and higher..

Yes you can get thick cut gears, but Like I said, pain in the A$$. Thats exact words from our friends at Randy's ring and pinion..

Most used gears you'll find will be at a price range of 75 to 100.
But why??? go new for a cost through us for 104.00.
Just a safer option than a any used set, even if they look good.
Why bother setting up a used set in your diff and hearing a growl cause you can't get the wear pattern together that it had in a previous diff.
