Horn blows
Well I put another steering wheel on my truck yesterday....On my old one the horn didnt work.....I got the horn to work on the new one but every time I turn to the left...it freak in honks by itself!!!!....any ideas what causes this before I tear into the steering column....thx

I had one where the horn would go off when I pushed in the clutch. It is funny and annoying at the same time. You got to pull the wheel and look for the ground. I honestly don't know if my horn even works, so that is another option.

Just reposition the metal ring that fits around the plastic legs. It is touching the steering shaft nut when you turn.(make sure it is installed dome side up)

LOL...I had the same problem with mine. I installed a new Grant unit and the spring that they supply is too strong which 'cocks' the contact ring skew a bit and when I turned it would touch on the screw that holds the turn signal stalk in.
I was really embarassed the first time it happened. I was sitting at a stop sign and some pedestrians where about to walk in to the intersection in front of me. Well, I was going to turn right, so I started to turn the wheel in preparation for the turn. All of a sudden the horns just went bat-$h!t. Scared the hell out of the folks walking through the intersection......The look on my face must have been priceless too!
