Very hard to control while driving and unsafe if you try.

I would like to see any pics of this also.....
My truck is radio delete and I was thinking of doing the same thing putting an aftermarket in the glove box......as far as controlling it allot of the new radios come with a remote so I think that would be safe....Thanks...Paul K

The only thing about a IR remote is it won't shoot through the glove box door. A previous thread on this discussed a repeater of sorts...........I never saw the final word on that idea.

Ya there is lots of posts on this.
If your good with 12 volt take the remote sensor of the deck and install it on the heater box or somewhere the remot can "hit it". Then you don't have to open the g box

you can put a IR relay light so you can use the remote while the door is closed

Most of the major brands sell a wired remote that you can mount to the dash within reach. If I want to change channels I just pop the door open and use the remote.

One of the member parts suppliers sells in dash replacement radios with remote for the CD, they offer IR remotes and radio signal remotes. Radio signal remotes are getting more common, I have one for my digital cable, the box is in the basement.
