pickup bed trailers
Could a longbed leafspring bed trailer be lowered some by removing some of the leaves. I looked at one but it is kinda tall. What is one of these worth? It had 8.76 16.5 tires on it. Would a 235/85/16 or 245/75/16 be any better for height?
I appriciate any feedback.

I can't help you on value, but lowering shouldn't be that big of a deal. On a side note, one of our fellow members (can't remember who it was) built a pickup bed trailer a couple of years ago, and man was it nice! A search might bring it up, but beware, it will make you want one, LOL!

How low do you want it?You could do an axle-flip.

I kind of like stance of 1/2 ton bed. The deck height plays into the ease of loading and unloading bed. How are spring pads dealt with on a flip kit? With the standard 3/4 leaf springs how will my carrying capacity be reduced?
Actually the one I found has a home made straight axle with regular eaton hubs with zerks in end of hubs. It has spring pads ontop of it for leaf spring attachment. Would I have to roll over axle to get pads on bottom of axle?

i have lowered a truck a few inches by taking some of the springs out of the pack. it had a heavy pack on it to begin with so we basicly took it to normal spring pack. if you are worried about load capacity and ride height, you could put air bags on it to help out with the load
