Front Keyways to lift?

I've been searching ebay for options on lifting my truck. I have a 96 Z71 1/2 ton and was curious the best way to stuff some 33's under there. i know a 3 inch body will work, but came across these key ways that lift the front 2.5 inches and the back 2 inches with blocks. how safe are these? i won't be doing any serious off roading just your every now and then mud hole or spur of the moment hill climb. any advice?

If keyways the crank torsion bars, your ride will stiffen on the front and steering parts will wear out faster. Blocks on the rear are safe but I hear they can increase wheelhop. Most people will likely recommend 4 inches or more of lift or a whole lot of fender (and maybe bumper) cutting/whacking to fit 33" tires. I hear 32's fit nicely though on a stock '96 4x4...

You can run 33s on a stock truck. I had a set of wide 33s on my truck, and rubbed a little on the fender. These were only on 8" wide wheels, but they are wider than most 33s on 10s. Right now I have a set of 285s on my truck, on 8" wheels, and they don't rub at all. You can crank your bars some, get a little lift without effecting the ride too much. I did mine about level front and rear, and it rides good. I will try to get some pics this weekend.
