Big Block Heat Stove
Does anyone have a picture of a big block heat stove? I just got one and I would like to see how it looks so I get an idea of how to install it.

cwilkie,
I didn't think that those came in these trucks until later. You'll have to find someone with a newer than a '68...maybe only the '71's or '72's had "heat risers" or "Stove Pipes" as they were universally called. I should put one on the 68 I have, but I always thought I'd need to use a different air cleaner setup than the original one I have. They help to warm a cold engine and with a 2-barrell manual choke BB I need some help getting it into operating temperature. Here's a bump for your thread. I'm hoping somebody with a newer truck--or WHATEVER that one came out of--sees this post and responds.

The one in the pic is the only kind i have ever seen for a BB, they are very hard to find, took me a couple of years to get mine, and mine is not for sale. The pic is just one i had on file that someone sent to me but is for a BB for shure. GOOD LUCK

I saw a similar setup on eBay last month but the guy wanted a crazy price for it. It was more than than the owner wanted for the one which I have a picture for. That one went for over $350. I wish someone would reproduce these things since I know I am not the only one who wants one.

My heat stove etc. on Ebay
I had the heat stove, tube, and correct exhaust manifolds on Ebay last month. The package sold for $275 which I thought was a fair price given how hard the stove is to find.

Sounds like a good candidate for a repo if the originals are selling that high.

I Believe what you have here is from a 1970-1972 Chevelle El Camino application. I am unsure on Camaro and Nova but they just might use the same item. If you want I can take a pic for you of the one in my 1972 Longhorn; Let me know!

noticed this in the parts board. it is a 350, but my understanding is the pipe is the same. maybe he sheetmetal shield will work as well. http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa....php3?t=160942

The heat stove pipe on the 350 and 402 are different. I have both and the the BB pipe is alot longer. Actually the pic of the pipe with the straw in the pic is mine. I am amazed how many times that one pic has appeared. I posted years ago to show what one looked like. It has been used by people selling pipes or just showing what they should look like, just like on this thread. A few times it has even been claimed by a few folks as theirs. I just smile, as I get a kick how it as helped so many people. I love this board and consider that pic as community property. And before anyone ask, No it is not for sale. It took me a long time to find one and would not want to have to do it again. My opinion is that if you find a good BB pipe and shield for $150 or less you should jump on it.
