Just a rebuild, Heavy Duty Shift kit and Spragg. He said he spent more time cleaning ti than building it HAHA! I found that rather funny..and true haha.
And yea thx for the compliment. It was super dam dirty but Im glad i spent the time stripping it all down tto bear metal. Makes all the difference when it come time to paint lol. (the frame that is)

As a heavy duty mechanic id say 70% of my job is cleaning. Esp in a tranny or engine rebuild.

Thx, yea were just gunna leave it that color. We might paint it black but we havnet decided yet.
I remember when I first started cleaning my frame. I had a glove...a **** load of steel wool, and a grinder w/ a wire brush attatcment. Took me quite a long time but after all the rust and old layers pf paint were gone. Sat a nice bare metal frame Word of advice to anyone that re-does a frame. Wear a mask when working lol. I was sneezing rust and dirt for a week haha :P

The transmission was painted gray as far as I can tell. Its not its natural finish, most of the time when the transmissions are hot tanked it discolors the aluminum some. So that's why most of the aftermarket and rebuilt transmissions are painted.
Looks like the is some good progress and very nice work done to it. To be honest its a lot better than I have seen some of the professional guys restore some. It could be the money thing from the owners paying 50.00 an hour and up plus materials lotsa money. On the other side I bet you wont find anyone else that comes as close to caring for your project the way you do. If that makes any sense. Its in anyone's best interest to wear breathing protection when sanding and painting. Even if it is a 5 minute job its worth it. I have yet to see any welder I've seen use a breathing mask at all.
