Tony- I parted out two trucks recently that had sliding rear window that were supposely factory options. Both had plain latches with no names on them. They were exact identical design. I beleive the factory ones had the aluminum frame that when mounted ---the frame would be fairly flush with the window seal rubber/stainless. I've see some that stick out almost an inch that really look like crap. For those of us without A/C or with non-functioning A/C---a slider rear window really helps cool down the cab and allows for strategic placement of empty cans, McDonalds wrappers, and other yuccky things!! The thing you need to be careful of is when Momma wants a load of MULCH---don't drive with the slider open or you will be eating that junk~~been there, done that!!! Huck

I know that we all yearn for "Factory" accessories or Dealer Installed NOS type stuff. Does anyone have an accessory brochure that lists a sliding back window as an option for the years '67-72?
I've seen sliders in small window trucks and (my opinion) they look really tacky. Their purpose is to allow ventilation and they work in that effort. I just think that small window trucks look tacky when you add a slider.\ Large window trucks can look okay, as long as it isn't one of those that stick out, like posted above. Those look tacky, too. This is my opinion, and I respect yours, too. I guess I'm a purist and even though I have no problem with restifying these trucks, I have my own tastes, just like you do. That's what makes this a great place to live. Hope you identify your parts as Old Stock.

I have a factory one and the latch is plastic. It is the type that stick out beyond the rubber seal. That acts like a water channel.

VNMOUS...Really like your truck. Planning on doing a similar scheme on my 70 and was wondering what paint code/name you used on yours. It looks great.
Thanks

I just got an original type slider for my truck and I got it out of a 70, the window is pretty mint and had no scrathes or marks around the edges that go into the rubber so I am thinking it was there from the start. And it has the Prestige name on the latch.

The top pic is actually from my '67. I have been told by someone on this board that Prestige sliders were a dealer installed option. The original thread is still up on this board with the details. Sadly I don't have the original option sheet so don't know what my truck was shipped with (and being in the UK it has had a few modifcations along the way. I'll post a picture from the outside if it has stopped raining yet.
