Dual Batteries?
My 80 C10 has 2 battery holders under the hood.. Currently I am only using the main ( passenger side ) one.. I have no battery in the 2nd one..
How do i properly hook up another battery in the driverside, and what advantages is it going to provide me?.. thanks. |

If you have a kickazz stereo system, it could help.

you could instal a switch to run either battery... helps when one dies and you need to start your truck.. or if you have a large stereo, winch, off road lights...

It would be best to use a solenoid (old ford type) and wire it up to where only 1 battery is used to start the truck and the other only charges when the truck is running. This is a very easy mode to do. If you do not need additional amperage for amps. plows. etc etc then its a waste of your $$ and time.

Im running 2 batteries on my 86 c10 right now, just get an extra set of cables and connect the positive to positive and negative to negative then run the cables like normal.

I hooked mine up positive to positive, and negative to ground instead of running 2 cable over to the main battery
