Humidity affect starting??
Can a drastic change in Humidity, California to Georgia, affect my trucks starting ability?? If so what can I do about it?? Been having trouble starting my burb, and not just in the morning when its cold, I changed the plugs, cap & rotar and still no change, also has a slight miss, but not sure if theyre related. ANY suggestions will be appreciated.

normally it woul take more than just a higher humindity to have an effect...more like a wet environment, plus the usual curlprit is the cap and rotor, which you've already replaced.

Hard starting or missing during high humidity is usually a sign that it's time to replace the supression plug wires. The more powerful the ignition, usually the bigger the problem. I like the Taylor Spiro-Pro pre-made wires with straight boots on the distributor and 90's on the plugs that route behind the block and up to the plugs. Just order a set for your truck from Summit or Jegs for about $40.

It's the fuel mixture. The carb is run a little rich for the added humidity. Adjust it down a little, and It'll take care of the problem. The moisture in the air down here in the south makes for a nasty fuel mix. It wets the plugs with condensation keeping them from firing untill they get warm enough to evaporate the moisture in the cylinder. No big deal. Leaning out the mix will take care of it.

You might also check the timing. With the altitude change and the grade of gas change, it might be a little too advanced or retarded. Just a thought.
