Side view mirror help.

Looking for some help here. Does anybody know if a chrome sport mirror will cover the top two holes from a dumbo mirrored vehicle. I pulled off my side mirrors and the paint is real nice under there. I hoping to find a mirror that will cover the top two holes and the third bottom hole I'll figure something out. I do not have future plans yet to repaint. Just looking for a sportier choice preferably chrome. I don't care if they're chevy, ferd, derge, or other.

i dont think so because the dumbo top 2 holes r spaced farther apart than the sport mirrors

Tah, I was pretty sure factory sport mirrors won't fit. I was at pep boys and saw a replacement one that was real close I'll hace to pop one off again and check. I'm hoping some one will have something layinf around of past experience to say yes a 1975? vega will fit.

well i wanted to run sport mirrors but when i bought repop doors there were no holes drilled so i decided not to run them at all i love the cleaner look thou

I am personall looking for a mirror to mount to the "Dumbo" mirror mount. That way I can cover the holes as intended and go to a smaller mirror for effect.

pieces, I think you have the right Idea. I tried a set from autozone. Cheap chrome plastic. They would cover the top holes, but they looked real dinky. I though I'd make a plug for the bottom and paint to match. I'll have to hit the J-yard. Or just keep an eye out for a something that would fit the orig base. Like about 50% smaller.

I'm working on the idea of taking a set of aftermarket mirrors from "Street Scene" and making a bracket that will connect to the mirror body and then shape it to fit the base mount to the door. After getting the right angle, then blend and fill with fiberglass to smooth the mount out. There you have it a n aftermarket mirror for a mid 80s truck.
