Going to look at a couple trucks today...

As the title states, however there's a catch.... They are from the dark side...

Yep, there you have it, I'm looking at two F*rd trucks....HORRIBLE, I know, but sometimes you just get a wild hair and you have to do something crazy.

Well, not married yet, and my fiance HATES ford...haha

actually, one is a '37 and one is a '38 and it's a deal that I can't pass up if they are as solid as I need. My brother and I will hopefully be building twins out of them together and they will be nothing but wild. Don't worry though, they WILL be chevy powered, V8, and both tailed up with 4-speed trannys (a muncie and a saginaw)

well, turns out that they were actually chevrolets when we got there...

then he decided not to sell one, which makes it not worth the effort. I'm workin on him still, so we'll see what happens.

Cool

When they're that old, it doesn't matter who makes them.
Now, I guess I'll have to resign from here.

Good luck on your dealings.

I have a '37 coupe. The trucks are really good looking as well.

This won't look much like what it should... In fact, I think I'll name it "Mutt"

I want to see some pics of the 37 Slonaker... My brother has a 37 Ford sedan and they look great. We just need to restore his now because it's a field car, but solid as a rock.

My '37 is a Chevy. It was my father's.

This is the only pic I have on my website, taken at a show this summer. The Camaro belongs to my father-in-law.

Why build just another average, "Brand X powered" half breed? Drop in a Big Block Ford and a rollerized C4 in it. Even with common D0VE heads and stock block, N/A, you can get around 700hp out of one.

We'll be using a chevy now, and the idea behind it is budget. I've already got all the components to build a 9,000 rpm 327 and I've already got a Rock Crusher, so why waste money on more cubes for a playtoy? If I wanted to put 700 hp to it, I'd take the T76 off the truck and put it in there. This is for nothing then to be a little creative and make a fun toy out of.

Yeah, I know what you are talking about far as budgets go and playtoys. I have a few 350's sitting around and think I might just throw one of my 460's into my Nova. Throw an HEI capped distributor on it an tell the unknowing it's just a real fast 455 Buick. Too bad not enough Ford powered Chevys out there. Good luck and have fun with it.

I really don't want to hijack the thread or disrupt any of "1987 Shortwide's" happiness. Nah I wouldn't bash you. I was totally GM for most of my years until getting bored and researching too much for my Mustang. Will never be into imports. I would only use a pan fill. JW makes aftermarket bells and stock C4 BBF pattern bells can be found. Plenty of aftermarket parts for them now. Replacing the copper washers with torrington bearings to rollerize a C4. http://www.madhatterracing.com/C4/rollerc4.htm
Then some oil mods or using a C5 case. http://www.fordmuscle.com/phpBB/view...11&forum=13&34 I haven't ruled out using one, but my car will weigh in around 2600 lbs, so I'll use one of my powerglides.
