whats it worth?

I just ran across a '73 C20 PS TH400 Auto and Hee Hee a freshly rebuilt 454 The truck has 120,000 documented miles and the trans was gone through about 15,000 ago, It also has all new brakes Chrome 16" wheels and 80 percent tread tires. The original owner was asking $1200 but he will take $800 because he needs to get rid of it and likes what I have done with Screamin' and my 74 C20.

I figure put the big block and TH400 in Screamin' then toss the SBC and TH350 into this '73 C20 so its still usable.

Any thoughts, whats a good 454 and TH400 worth? any problems with the '73 vintage 454s?

Unfortunately I don't have pics at this time but it really is nothing to look at.

If the motor and transmission are solid then you have a smoking deal. Buy the truck and part out what you don't need. You might actually make a profit off of the deal....

Buy it now!

The core on a big block is $500. Sounds like a great deal. I know gas prices are climbing every week but if you want a big block you won't get in one any cheaper. You better jump on it before it's gone. B.B.

you're right, the market for early 3/4 ton trucks is booming right now! especially ones with excessively large engines, no overdrive, no fuel injection, and no real options to speak of.

I'd tend to agree, not nessessary!

However, I'd be all over that truck for 800 US, that truck is easily worth 5 grand up here in Alberta in that kind of shape with a big block!

sorry, just stating the facts. there isnt a big market for 30 year old 3/4 ton trucks. with that said, the only way you'll be able to get mine away from me is to pry the keys from my cold dead hand, and praythat i dont haunt you for doing so. they're great trucks to have, and can be loved just as much if not more than a run of the mill 1/2 ton. if you think you're going to restore a 3/4 ton, and make some money, you've got a lot to learn about the truck market.

I'm not gonna restore it, never said I was. I own a cherried out 74 c20 and and Screamin' my 71 pictured below, which I would love to drop the big block in.

Just thought publically calling somebody was uncalled for.

awesome score man! if you keep it, enjoy it. if you sell it, i'd say you could make $800-$1000 on it (easy) and maybe even $1500+, that's a clean truck.
