Question Upper Control Arm Shaft Repair Need Help!

I need to replace the rubber boots (grease cups) on the upper control arm shafts of my wife's '63 C-10 Pickup. Question, will I be able to change the cups out without compressing the coil spring? Or will there be too much pressure on the upper control arm to do this with dealing with the coil springs. I want to be safe, but I do not have a compressor and would have to rent or buy one.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks! rico

1. Set it on jack stands to Where the tire is on the air about 2".
2. Remove tire compress spring with a jack (slowly and just enough to remove he upper ball joint castle nut)
3. Lower the jack very slowly and carfully till the spring is completely depresed.

4. Reverse procedure to reassemble.

My.2 cents
