Hey All!
I bought my first full size truck ever a couple of years ago, A 1972 Chevy C20 4x4 with a V8 350. My main intention of the purchase was to pull my boat. I quickly fell in love with the truck but figured there wasn't much I could do since the rust was so bad. I didn't know that all the replacement parts were available and I surely didn't know where to begin. After some research and consultation with friends who owned similar trucks 67-72's. I decided I didn't have much to lose, and had the opportunity to buy some new tools and learn a thing or two. As it turns out a hundreds of things new to learn.
With the help of a buddy, I have now replaced the lower A and B posts, inner and outer rockers, front and rear cab supports, both rear cab corners, main and outer floor pans, and inner cowel kick panels. I did all the remaining body work on the cab, doors and hood and got them all painted. I just recently found a straight bed and will get that painted and mounted this winter. The further I get into the project the more questions I have and I have already gotten some good advice from members on this site, I hope to eventually be able to return the favors for somebody who is where I was a year ago.
