drastic body swap

O.K. It'll be a long process, but here goes.
I have a 1984 K5 Blazer with extensive engine and drivetrain mods. I won't list them all but just say that I've got my suspension the way I like it. I want to take my 84 blaze body off, lengthen the frame , and put a 67-72 swb truck body on it. Would I be better off to put my engine, tranny, etc on the old frame? if not where cam I find detailed frame specs for 67-72 frames?

not sure where to find specs on 67-72 frames but as far as lengthening your frame to add a 67-72 body to a 84 frame well since there different body styles i would think the mounting points on the bodies would be different.i also think there would be a lot of grief involved in getting a frame lengthened or shortened.my personal opinion is get a 67-72 4x4 and add your suspension stuff and motor/trans/transfer case to it from the 84.another question is if you like the 84 then how come you wanna do the body swap?

To go all the way back- I had a 72 way back when and sold it. Then I got the 84 and loved it. Now I also have an 87 single rear wheel V30 which is much nicer than the 84. I've wanted another old truck since I sold my 72, but I still like the way I have finally got the 84 set up, so I figured why not have them both?
