WTB 1963 longbed frame
I'm looking for a good frame that will fit the compnents of a 1963 Chevy longbed. The frame is bent under the bed on my truck, so I need to replace it. (I imagine anything in the 1960-1966 year model range should work, but could use a better-informed opinion to weigh in for that answer.)
I'm in the Austin, TX area and am willing to travel roughly a 300 mile radius (Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Fredricksburg) to pick it up.

Re: WTB 1963 longbed frame
Just found out the '61 and '62 frames used a different suspension from the '63, so that's out of the question.
I don't care if the frame is in use, it might even be better for me to buy another old '63 (I need the parts). If anyone knows of one for sale, I'd sure appreciate a heads up.

Re: WTB 1963 longbed frame
Dang man, you bet I'd be interested. Too bad you're so far away though. Plus I'm trying to keep it as close to a '63 build as possible. It used to be my grandfathers' truck that I wrecked ten years ago.
However, if the frame, suspension, and bolt holes (for the front fenders and cab) for the '63 and the '65 are identical then I'd definitely work on a way to deal with the long-distance issue. I don't suppose you have pics?

Re: WTB 1963 longbed frame
everything except the front suspension is the same. I will get some pix by the week end. I was going to do a LWB truck and found a SWB parts truck. I will also make an inventory of all the new parts for you.
Give me your email so I can send....... The only thing I don't have are the disc dust shields.but I can pack the wheel bearings and install the front stuff to make it a rolling chassis. Thanks, Steve |
