What`s it Worth?`86 K/30 3+3

There`s this`86 Chevy CustomDeluxe/30 SRW 4wd Crewcab for sale.It was a Navy vehicle, then a Police Department,plain-Jane,rusted rockers, and not too pretty. It has a 350/TH400/4.10s.He`s got his price or offer on it.It seems in my general area vehicles go for more, bodies hold up worse, yet no one wants to pay out extra because a vehicle is rustfree from a rustfree place.A strange area.Now,an`86 or anything in that bodystyle,I consider to be a classic in the making. It`s an "older" style, out of the "late[model" loop at dealers, but not yet so hard to find or unusual to be considered a valueable classic.I mean, these are the true value years.
Anyway, without pictures, just use my description and tell me what you`d pay for a truck like this.Let`s assume the mileage is getting up there by the looks of it.

Re: What`s it Worth?`86 K/30 3+3

I buy three or four of those type trucks a year and part them out. I can tell you what the parts are worth assuming they are in good working condition.

Dana 60 front with matching Corporate 14 rear $850.00 (add $150 for G80)
Good running 350 engine w/accessories $500.00
TH400/NP205 combo w/crossmember and shifter $500.00
Front and rear driveshafts $50.00 each
Good straight 8 lug wheels $50.00 a set

That's just over $2000.00 for the drivetrain. If you find someone that needs a frame then that's another $300.00-$500.00. The sheetmetal is junk on most of the trucks I part out but I can usually squeeze another $500.00 out of them if I take the time. I never pay over $1500.00 at the auctions for these trucks because very few people down here want them. Unless you have a NEED for one they just don't sell very well. A truck with no creature comforts (especially a/c) will sit on a lot down here for months before it sells.
