10B backing plate mounts.
Ok, I bought a set of 86 Camaro rear calipers and backing plates thinking they would bolt on...
So my 10B in my 71 (5lug) has the mounting bolts 4" apart, top and bottom, spaced 4" apart. Camaro is 3" top and 3" on bottom spaced 3" apart. Thoughts? Should I go with the 95 Impala brackets with my camaro calipers? Last edited by FormerMember; 12-19-2005 at 09:46 PM. |

Re: 10B backing plate mounts.
Rockauto shows the 86 camaro calipers the same as an 83 that I run on the rear of my 67 --12 bolt --6 lugs. Have any pics of the 86 camaro mounting brackets (backing plates)?

Waiting for batteries to charge...
Is there a large bearing and a small bearing 10B or something? |

Re: 10B backing plate mounts.
my bracket template is for a 12 bolt truck and the axle mounting tab bolts are 3 3/8" between centers top and bottom. I can put a 4" centers top and bottom in the adapter bracket. I am not helping you much. Sounds like fabrication time. What 5x5 rotors do you use with your setup?

JR Motorsports has them.. Everything I've ever bought from them was shipped fast.

Re: 10B backing plate mounts.
I plan to use 95 Caprice/Impala rear rotors to get to 5 on 5"
I guess a weld on bracket's the easiest way to go and still get an ebrake. I've been looking for them and got these off of ebay with the cables for 40.00 I found a 95 Impala rear for 200.00 complete but would be a PITA to go get it and then yank everything off. Re: 10B backing plate mounts.
So, the really funny thing?
I just got everything I needed for the Caprice rear disk for way less than I anticipated! I mean, everything, calipers, rotors, brackets (with ebrake), hoses, front calipers, blah blah... Last edited by FormerMember; 12-20-2005 at 01:06 AM. |
