Re: 99 and up silverado seats...
I paid $500.00 Canadian for mine including the back seat. I really find my comfortable even on long road trips. My floor was reinforced slightly due to the cab extension, but I would recommend reinforcing yours as well due to the integral seat belts.

Novaguy, you would loose room doing this. You need a thinner seat, these are thicker. 68gmcdually got away with it becouse his truck is a custom built extended cab.

Re: 99 and up silverado seats...
I just purchase some silverado seats from a junk yard. I got the two seats for $200.00 total and the center console for $100.00. I shopped on E-bay for a long time, but I would suggest going to a junk yard, because silverado, tahoe, sierra trucks are so popular.
Also, I would recommend not purchasing the center console off of e-bay. I have seen a great deal of those go for $200+. I asked the guy at the junk yard about this, and he told me that they are a really hot item. Lots of guys are getting silverado trucks with permant consoles and taking them out to add an additional seat. It does not surprise me to see a center console that sells for more than the two seats together. Good luck with your search. I haven't installed mine yet, but they can only be an improvement. Adam |

Re: 99 and up silverado seats...
I'm right at 6' tall and wouldn't want to be much taller and using these seats. It's not bad but I would prefer to have the seats reclined a bit more but if I did that, I would be way to far forward. I paid about $200 for my set with the middle seat that does not fold down.
I reinforced my floor and you can see pics on my site listed in my sig of how I did it - not saying I did it right - but at least you can see what I did and use that info as you consider reinforcement options.

Re: 99 and up silverado seats...
Mine were brand new "take outs" from a 2001 Silverado. Got them from local yard who has a contract with the local Chevy dealer. When a customer wants to install leather, they take out the cloth and sell it to my yard. I paid $500 for all 3 pieces. I am 6'2" tall and decided to remove the lower seat frame to gain 2". I am definitely going to do some floor reinforcment due to the integrated seat belts. Very comfortable set up. Good luck.

Yukon Jack,
I checked out your site. Very well done. However, I could not find the picture set of the seat reinforcement you mention. Can you be more specific as to where I could find them? Thanks, Larry |

Re: 99 and up silverado seats...
I got mine off Ebay for $75. One of the dispatchers at the Police Dept. was dating a girl in Atlanta and I gave him $25 to pick them up for me when he was down there. I really think the only reason I got a good deal is that the guy wouldn't ship them.
Like a lot of guys have said and will say collapse the intermediate shaft on the steering column if you don't have a tile. I'm horizontally challenged and it helps me immensely. I did have to cut off the back corners of the front legs on my jump seat. I don't have the console because I wanted my daughter to be able to ride with her daddy. Especially since she will own the truck someday. I don't know if the legs are any different on from the console setups to the jump seat ones. You can't reinforce the seats from the bottom of the cab enough. I'm going to have someone weld my steel strips to the cab to help out.

Re: 99 and up silverado seats...
At first when I put them in my "Cummins-20" I didn't really care for them as they made getting in and out different from what I was used to, but then I drove the truck most of the summer, and so did my brother and we really liked them. I am 6' tall, and my brother is about 6'3" and we have plenty of room with the gas tank still in the cab and the OE 17" steering wheel..........However, I wouldn't recommend this if you were a bit "Portly"
Our local yards never had any come in, so I was raped on ebay for my three.........$400 some. Still though, the comfort, three point belts and the adjustability was worth it IMO.
