Re: my 63 longbed stepside
There's a reason that not that many were made but all that matters is if YOU like it. Looks pretty straight!

Hey Sonomaguy 87,
Don't know how many were made but I've got one too and I think they are cool! Question for ya: is your drive shaft one piece or two? See this thread 1963 LWB driveshaft puzzler on 1/23/06.

Re: my 63 longbed stepside
Well, I don't think they were very popular for two reasons: Stepsides were marketed as "sporty," and less utilitarian. Longbeds are generally considered the opposite. People buy longbeds so they can haul more stuff. Why then turn around and use a narrow bed? To be honest, I don't think many people liked the looks of them.
BUT, it's still cool to have a classic, and the rarity has a cool factor to itself. I'd convert it to short, but that's just me (I'm like that) |

Re: my 63 longbed stepside
Has anyone converted a Long stepside bed to a short? I've seen the threads for cutting a long fleetside bed down but it seems it would be easier with a stepside bed. I suppose it would be easier to just get a pair of short bed sides...
