lowered my truck, with an engine!
well i figured i'd drop the completed engine into the truck with the tranny. it's a gm 350 crate from a 77 c10 with low miles and a th350. extras include a performer intake, rebuilt carb, hedman long tube headers, HEI, mickey thompson valve covers, and paint all over.
pics: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 3 2 1 poof ![]() it's magic! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() and it did lower the front of the truck an inch. it will go down another inch when all the body panels and bumper/brackets go on. is it just me or are 67-72 small block mounts a real pain to slide an engine into? i was going to use the 73-87 style, but i found my 67-72's and saved my power steering setup as well as saved myself from drilling new tranny crossmember holes when the tranny moves back an inch. Re: lowered my truck, with an engine!
To answer your question.....yes the mounts are a pain to get in, at least most time with me they are. I'm glad mine is now using the later style mounts.
BTW it looks very nice in there.

Re: lowered my truck, with an engine!
Yeah, I've seen several trucks where a one motor mount wasnt right and they just chained it down or something. I might have to try that taking the whole stand out thing. 73 and up are a snap..

Re: lowered my truck, with an engine!
Very nice looking engine and I normally prefer chrome dressup on top but that looks tight.
BTW adding an engine is the best way to lower a truck, not only does it lower it, it gives you more hp than the same truck without an engine.

Re: lowered my truck, with an engine!
haha 3 wide is a bit of a hassle how about 2 and then 1 pusher, or maybe even a driver, pusher, and then someone to hold your hoses in so they dont drag the ground
