You can get specific info from here. Engine suffix code should be stamped on a flange located on front pass. side of engine. A lot of changes were made between 70, 71 & 72yrs. Front discs, 5 lugs, as well as HP ratings. My 1970 350 suffix code (TBC) shows 255HP, was wondering why it was so high compared to later years (avg. 165 HP) and thought I had a special engine for a while. Later I learned about the "gross" to "net" HP change over. Found more detailed reading here:
