Truck Complimented Yesterday
I`m doing a job in the city on a lawyer`s office by the courthouse(lot`s of high-dollar people)and leaving yesterday I was coming up to a red light with a cardboard sign begger that`s always there.I`m thinking,"shoot!I`m going to end up right next to this guy."It was nice out,I had the window down.I stop,he says`"I really like your truck.I`ve been seeing you and hoped to get a chance to tell you."Then, starts asking questions like,"is that a`68?"He started going on about how I was better off with my`72 than any of this new crap and he goes to car shows and sees them all fixed-up for alot of money. He never said anything about money.I didn`t mind those couple minutes.I might have even given him a buck if he had guessed the year.lol
These things are sure good conversation pieces.I`ve had all kinds of different people comment on these trucks, from millionaires to beggers.

Re: Truck Complimented Yesterday
I always enjoyed the old timers who would scratch thier head and ask is that the right bed? That was about the only thing I liked about that bed on my truck.

Re: Truck Complimented Yesterday
I had to take my 72 through emissions yesterday and I got a few compliments on my truck and a lot of looks. I enjoy driving classics weather it is my truck or my Corvette.

Re: Truck Complimented Yesterday
People always say mine will look nice once I get it painted. I have to tell them "It is painted". Some people just don't understand the ratrod look I guess. Flat black is the new black, you know

Re: Truck Complimented Yesterday
My truck is pretty loud running through town between old brick buildings but I almost always have someone give me a nod or thumbs-up or something.
Something about a big block with a noticable cam idling at a light through 3" 70 series flows that makes the heads turn. Last edited by vtblazer; 04-15-2006 at 05:59 PM. |

Re: Truck Complimented Yesterday
A lot of people ask about my truck, and I've actually had people in F0RD's wave at me before. It does draw a lot of attention with the new dual exhaust though.
