What is this???

I usally spend my time in the truck section but I have a neighbor that has a 71 blazer and he needs to know what this part is called and where he could find a right and left side replacement part. Thanks for your help and I will attach some pics of his ride. The first pic is the part he is looking for on the top of the door pillar.

Re: What is this???

Dont know the "official" name for it, but they are window caps. Blazer doors are just truck doors that have the top part cut off. When they cut the door from being a Truck door, they put those on the windows from the factory.

Looked through a few Venders for you, and didnt see any...I even looked through Goodmark Might want to go to the parts section, and post a "wtb" post. I am sure that someone like Teeitup who has a bunch of trucks, might be able to get a set for you.

It's called a "door cap"

Re: What is this???

Thanks guys. I thought that was a rare blazer. He picked it up for 3k. Looks nice he had me drive it around yesterday and it sure does handle nice. Had another neighbor that sold a Feather Blazer last week. Of course I found out about it after it was gone. I had a 79 blazer that never left the state of Arizona and sold it. I was the second owner I am still kicking my self for getting rid of it. Thanks again for the help. Jones

That's the feathers Blazer that sold on ebay a couple months ago, anyone remember? I was gonna buy it, but it was quite a ways away. It looks good, hope he enjoys it.

Re: What is this???

I dont think it was ever on Ebay. He had to track the lady down that owned it and then she would not sell it to him and then called him back a month later.

Re: What is this???

Hey guys,
Am I correct in assuming that those caps with the ribs will replace the smooth top ones that originally was on my Jimmy? They look the same except for that.

Thanks---Doug

I "believe" if they are smooth they are just worn down and those would be the correct replacements.

We just coverred this in another post, do a search to find it. But I think the consensus was that '69/70 had the smooth caps, '71/72 were changed to have the ribs. Possibly for better sealing. I've only seen the ribbed ones being reproduced.

Re: What is this???

The truck shop has them also. $36 for the set. It's on page 55 of their on line catalog.
