sending unit prob

i did the blazer tank swap and it came with a brand new sending unit before i changed anything my fuel gauge worked fine now the neddle in the gauge is about 1-1 1/2 inches past the full mark and dont move what could cause this

bad sending unit?

Take the wire off the sending unit and ground the wire, the gauge should move when the wire is grounded.
