should i buy this rig as a backup
I found a 72 chev custom deluxe 4x4 w/ A/c in fair shape. its a runner for $2300. It has the toe hooks up front. So im thinking see if i can get a few hundred $$$ for the toe hooks, take the A/C out and put it in my blazer that is an A/C car that someone took out, and then sell the rig for still a profit.
Whatcha guys think?

Re: should i buy this rig as a backup
sounds like a good plan to me. If the cab isn't rusted, it is probably worth more than the asking price as is.

Re: should i buy this rig as a backup
damn,,,,,,,,false advertising.....no a/c as they said. and the cab was really rusted. it was a friend of a friend of a friend, so by the time the info got to me it was a $30k truck for $2300.
it was worth $1500 IMO

Re: should i buy this rig as a backup
I know how that goes, you get a supposely great lead on what think in your mind is a real nice diamond that may have gotten overlooked or hidden from everyone else, only when you go to look at it for yourself it ends up being something you wouldnt have wasted your time or gas to go look at,thats what happens 90 percent of the time, but the other 10 percent of the time it ends up being something you would have gladly given more than the asking price or felt just a little guilty because you got it for free and the owner thought that he was getting over on you for having you haul his supposely piece of junk away for free.So it kinda like gambling you lose a whole lot more than you win,but sometimes when you do win its BIG...IMO

Re: should i buy this rig as a backup
Demand the tow hooks for wasting your time.Tell them they are like plows and 5th wheel hitches. They give away that the truck was worked hard and make it worth less money to a buyer.

You would have had to explain another truck not just parts you stash in the garage. I've chased a few of those deals myself.
