HELP: 68 CST w/Buddy Seats RELISTED on eBay
The Green 68 CST with the Buddy Seats has been relisted. I thought it had been sold outside of eBay, and I was crying myself to sleep - but I did another search and there it was again! The owner relisted it for some reason.
So, my question is... do any of you live in Central Arkansas? Id really like to have an independent party take a look at it for me. Id be willing to pay an "inspection fee" if anyone is interested in taking a look at it for me. Here is a link to the eBay auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=4634766321 I really want a show-quality truck that can still be a daily driver, and from the info on the auction it looks like this truck will need a complete new paint job because the clearcoat is peeling. With that in mind, am I better off to wait and buy a truck that already has a decent paint job? Thanks! |

It looks good, I'd ask him about him about the buddy buckets though, it looks like it has high back buckets

Re: HELP: 68 CST w/Buddy Seats RELISTED on eBay
Nice truck but is definitely not an original truck. I would price it at $2500 low and $4800 high side. If you can get it in that range then a new paint job and some detailing would put you in the show truck range. Of course, I am talking Northwest here. It may be higher or lower in other parts of the country.

That truck still has a long way to go before it's "show quality". Good luck though.

Re: HELP: 68 CST w/Buddy Seats RELISTED on eBay
That is a nice one to go with.I`d be willing to go with that one up to around $6,000.That`s assuming the rust isn`t there. They must have swapped seats whilr covering the originals.

Re: HELP: 68 CST w/Buddy Seats RELISTED on eBay
That does not appear to be a factory CST to me.
It's missing chrome trim on the windows (Vent panes too?) There's no indication of any emblems on the door or glove box door. Many other Custom/CST details are missing. "Buddy Buckets" Do not a CST make in 68. It looks like a fairly low optioned 68 short wide with buddy buckets installed at one time. I'm pretty sure you could get buddy buckets all by themselves too without ordering the CST package so they could be factory but that does not make it a CST. It would be interesting to see the glove box options and model number to see how it was equipped originally.

I have a friend that lives in Searcy. PM me a list of things you want to know about the truck and I will see if he has time to go look at it for you.

Re: HELP: 68 CST w/Buddy Seats RELISTED on eBay
Tom`s right.If it was a CST everything has been changed that was CST:carpet for door panels,seat(if original)not covered with correct material,side mouldings gone,horn button,window accents,and badges.If it`s not rusty,I`d take it.No reserve,too.

Re: HELP: 68 CST w/Buddy Seats RELISTED on eBay
Thanks for your help guys. This morning I talked to the guy who is selling the 68 Chevy "CST" on eBay. He sent me pics of all of the areas that I wanted to see, so I dont really need anyone to check it out for me now. Also he posted about 20 additional pictures on eBay today.
It is really a sad story... the guy who was actually restoring the truck got colon cancer and died rather suddenly (he was in his early 40s!) He was single with no kids, so his mother had a friend of hers list the truck on eBay for her. She has no idea how much he actually spent on the restoration thus far, but they found $4000 in restoration reciepts that were dated within the past 18 months! The title has already been signed over, so there is no issue with the title. As for the CST trim, Im pretty sure that truck was not originally a CST but that it does have a lot of the CST options installed. Thanks again for all of your help - and if you are over 40, dont forget to get an annual colon exam (seriously!), colon cancer mostly hits men in their 40s and it is treatable if caught early - but if not it is really bad news! Re: HELP: 68 CST w/Buddy Seats RELISTED on eBay
Okay, here is the truck... it looks pretty good from a distance, but there is some rust around the rear wheels that is concerning me. Take a look and tell me how difficult this looks to fix.
Close up pics on eBay auction Thanks again for your help... Last edited by 67_CST; 04-28-2006 at 10:10 PM. |

Re: HELP: 68 CST w/Buddy Seats RELISTED on eBay
I would be very worried about the rust situtation, loks like there is a bit of bondo around that wheel arc, and the whole truck, not tryin to be a downer here but I have alot of nice lookin paint jobs go bad within a couple of years because of poor/lazy workmanship. just my 2cents.

Re: HELP: 68 CST w/Buddy Seats RELISTED on eBay
Yeah... I think I'll move on to another truck. The cab corners look great, but I really dont want to buy a truck that needs a complete new paint job etc. The search is on!
