Smile 59 1 ton- 1700 mile road trip

Well folks I flew in to Lewiston Idaho and picked up the 1 ton. It is beautiful! Did 50 mph for 3 days straight with out so much as a scary noise. She is a healthy old girl. Here are a few pictures of the truck from out on the road. The link below will access all the pictures I took if you want more.
Day 1 Lewiston Idaho

When I got 5 miles away from the PO's house I hit this. Sat here for 2 hours!

Still in Idaho and headed South.

The day ends in Boise in a really nasty Hotel. If I wasn't so tired I would have gone on to the next place.

Day 2 I got a full nights sleep and am ready to make up the lost time from yesterday. It is amazing what a shower and some sleep will do for you.

Re: 59 1 ton- 1700 mile road trip

I slept in the truck here in Beaver Utah, I drove until 0500 so I figured a hotel would be kind of a waste. I knew that if I slept in the truck I would wake up earlier. I only was able to sleep 3 and a half hours before I woke up freezing!

Utah's Zion park!

That is in Zion National Park. It is in Southern Utah, just a little ways from the Arizona boarder. It is amazing to look at, it has some real fun corners and tunnels too. I recommend it to anyone in that area.

Thanks for checking it out with me guys

Hey Jebb, Thanks for taking the pic's on your road trip and sharing them with use. It looks like you had a good trip. I really like the truck, she looks solid. Are you still going to use her as a parts truck?

Re: 59 1 ton- 1700 mile road trip

Thanks again all

Cal, she is very solid (wavey however) and a great runner ! I am still going to use the cab and everything that bolts to it. The good news is that my Dad has located a Fleet Opion Grille he is going to use that with the Fleet cab and bolt them to the 1 ton! From what research I have done the Fleet Options were available in a 1 ton. It is a low mile rig and it would be a shame to part it out. My Dad is going to do it up right.
