Question Can anyone help identifying frontend donor

I bought this 64C10 partially done from an estate. Working on redoing it but I cant figure out where the frontend donor came from to aid in replacing some of the components? Anyone have a clue where it came from or what the donor was? Could it be stock? Its 5 lugs and disk brakes. Any suggestions on how to buy brake pads etc for it if I cant figure out where it came from?

Thanks in advance folks!

Re: Can anyone help identifying frontend donor

Since it has rubber bushings on the control arm shafts I'm going say 73-87 c10. I'm not sure if there are any differences between those years.

Re: Can anyone help identifying frontend donor

Are there any identifying marks or numbers etc I can check to validate what it came from.

I know its gonna be a pain each time I need to replace a rotor, pad, hose, etc to have to get the 17 year old at the parts counter give me the painful experience of trying to get help.....

Re: Can anyone help identifying frontend donor

That front end is typical 73-87. The first blue circle in the pic below shows where a new hole had to be drilled in the crossmember for the bolt to line up, and the second blue circle shows where the brake hose connects to the hard line inside the frame (that didn't occur in 64 and I believe it didn't appear until 73, but I might be wrong).

I think Mike is right, just order parts for a 73-87.
You might have been able to positively identify it if the little metal tag was still there (usually on the idler arm or one of the tie-rods) but those things get removed pretty quickly-especially for a paint job.
There were no major differences that I can recall in the c-10 components, so it shouldn't matter. I'd start by just telling the 17 year old you need brake pads for a 77 and then compare them.

Hope I helped some,
Chris
