Welding Frame Reinforcement Plates
After cutting my longbed frame to shortbed specs, I am now welding in reinforcement plates on the inside of the frame for extra strength.
A friend of mine says I should not weld along the vertical edges of the patch, just the horizontal edges. He says welding across a beam will weaken it. Any thoughts on this "theory"? Thanks! Larry |

Have you looked in the FAQ forum? There is an excellent article there about this. They show you how to patch the frame with pics...
