Decided on 3/5 drop...Question..
OK...After reviewing and looking at numerous posts on this board, I have decided to go with a 3/5 drop..I want to do it the right way and go with spindles (so people have told me spindles are the right way)...I have only seen 2.5 spindles, what would I need to do with my existing springs to get that extra half inch...Cut or heat up? Also, on the rear, with 5 inch springs what are my "must haves" and my "do it right" items..Thanks for the input....

Well just to let you know, "do it right" and "cut/heat springs" don't usually go hand-in-hand. Just buy 3in coils.

DJM sells 3'' spindles. They are for 73-87 so you would need to make a couple of changes to some front end parts. but then you won't have to cut anything. You didn't say what year your truck was, but if it has drum brakes this is way to upgrade to disc.

A 1/2 isn`t worth worrying about.If you want to go with spindles,they are 2 1/2".There`s nothing wromg with up to 3" springs.It`s when you want more,like 4",that you need to combime spindles & springs(spindles 2 1/2"/springs 1 1/2").

BellTech & DJM both offer 3" spindles & Western Chassis has 2.5" spindles.

Yeah, the spindles are either 2 1/2" or 3".I`m just saying 1/2" is nothing to squabble about.I mean,it`s like the width of the tip of your pinky. And,there`s nothing "wrong" about using -3" springs or less.
