Body Swap?

I purchased a 78 2wd and a 85 4wd K5 blazers for five hundred each. Both are in good condition the 2wd is a four speed with no air or power windows, the 85 has everything, PW, PL, P tail gate, air etc. I was woundering how hard would it be to either:
1, move everything from the 85 to the 78 this would include doors, tail gate, air condition system and front clip.

OR

2, swap bodies. is this vary diffulcult, how much do you think it will cost if I unbutton everything.

I would like to keep the truck reg as a 78 and also keep the 4sp.

Also if anyone is looking for parts I have a feeling I will have a lot of extras when Iam done.

Re: Body Swap?

macrod if I read this right you are trying to end up with an optioned out 78 2wd with a 4 speed. I don't follow why you want to keep the 78 as the "registered" vehicle unless it would help you with emsssion laws.

The quickest solution would be to put the 2wd suspension, crossmember, and 4 speed under the 85. Unfortunately that won't allow you to register it as a 78.

BTW- Please make sure you don't allow this to turn in to a "for sale" or "what's it worth" thread...

Re: Body Swap?

I thought that the registered year is determined by the VIN plate aka the body, is it not?

Re: Body Swap?

Like N2TRUX said swap the suspensions out. This will be the best way and make it better for the setups desired. 2wd with all the options from factory and a 4wd made for playtoy.
